The BEST Hot Dog Recipe

July is National Hot Dog month! You must celebrate with these AMAZING Grilled Hot Dogs! OMG! SO good!! This was the first time that I marinated hot dogs, and I will never grill a naked dog again! The marinade adds so much flavor. It really makes all the difference. Chicken Legs doesn't even like hot dogs, and he asked me to make these again this weekend. They must be good!

The hot dogs only need to marinate a few minutes before going on the grill. I loved how the hot dogs looked with the little cuts in them. These are perfect for Memorial Day cookouts, Labor Day picnics, and tailgates in the Fall.

How to Make Marinated Hot Dogs on the Grill

This recipe is super easy to make with only a few simple ingredients. With a knife, make small slits at an angle in 2 rows down each hot dog, about ½ inch apart, cutting partway into the hot dog. The cuts should look like rounded half circles.

In a small bowl, whisk together ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, and vegetable oil. Place hot dogs in a ziplock bag. Pour the marinade over the hot dogs and refrigerate for 15 to 20 minutes. When ready to cook the hot dogs, prepare the grill. Remove the hot dogs from the marinade and cook over direct heat for 3 to 5 minutes. Serve the hot dogs in buns with your favorite condiments.
